HISTORY
Building design changes over time, mainly due to new technological advances or new fashions.
In ‘An Attempt to Discriminate the Styles of Architecture in England’ (1817), Thomas Rickman set out the main building styles which we still use to date buildings today. St Oswald's church, Howell shows examples of all of these major building styles and phases.
